The Wedding Singer is a movie based in the 80’s starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is taking the stage right in London at the Grand Theatre.
Director and co-producer Kerry Hishon has been in the industry since before she can even remember. Hishon has had her whole family involved in the show, her husband and mother have been helping with sets. Along with following her true passion she is inspiring the rest of the cast and crew.
“So far my favourite moment has been is getting to know and work with this cast. We have assembled a cast of 25 actors who are very, very talented. They have a variety of experience. For some it is their very first show and for others they have done more than ten productions in the London area.” Said Hishon.
Jessalyn Hodgson starring as Julia Sullivan met Hishon a few weeks back has also been fully immersed in the entertainment industry. Hodgson has crated very special bonds with the rest of the cast throughout the creation of the show.
“I knew a good chunk of the cast going into it so it was really fun to see a bunch of familiar faces. Theres always new people you have never seen before. I think everyone just blended really well together.” Said Hodgson.
Not only is the show based around the cast and director but also the sets, clothes and makeup.
“Our talented costume designer Kate is also a member of the cast so she is doing double duty. We have a variety of community volunteers working on props and we have Laura who has designed our set which is really incredible. We have an incredibly talented band and our musical director. Our choreography has been both challenging but very topical to the 80’s.” Said Hishon.
With every project can come some challenges but throughout it the cast and crew of the Wedding Singer has created something magical.
If you are going to the show there are a merit of things you can look forward to.
