For who appreciate comic books, which in the past were regularly dismissed as disposable, now can see a combination of comics and graphic novels in the same place.
‘Words and Pictures: Cartoonists of Southwestern Ontario’ is giving Londoners the last chance to see creative cartoons and graphic novels by artists from this field.
Some of them, tried to create a connection between their works and technology, for example. The art on paper is accompanied by a video game, which makes the integration more real.
Diana Tamblyn, Guest Curator of the exhibition, explains that the gallery has blended 12 artists from Southwestern Ontario.

“We are lucky to have this amount of talent artists in London.”
Southwestern Ontario has produced some of the world’s most celebrated and innovative artists such as the Canadian cult cartoonist Jesse Jacobs.
“He drew for the New York Times – article about fecal transplants – and also for the National Post, for example.”
It is essential to remember that each of these artists work in different styles, some of them using the more traditional grid format, and others playing with and challenging the conventions of the comics form.
More than 200 pieces will be available to see until this weekend. Some of the featured artists include: Marc Bell, Scott Chantler, David Collier, Michael Cho, Willow Dawson, Jesse Jacobs, Mark Laliberte, and Bryan Lee O’Malley.
Londoners will be able to see and physically interact with some of the art works until Sunday, at the London Museum, between 12pm to 5pm.
