Red Dead Redemption 2 recently released for consoles and the reception has been stellar. With most of the big gaming outlets reviewing the game at 10/10 or close to it. The game even has a 97% on Metacritic. The huge open world combined with the ability to interact with every non-playable character in the game provides great immersion. And lets not even talk about the graphics because they are simply stunning.
With that being said the start of the game is some what slow start with the 1st few hours confining you to missions only. Once that wraps up though Rockstar throws you out into the wild west. There are tons of systems at play but it is easy to get lost in not only the master crafted story but also in how alive the world truly is.
A bartender might remember a fight you had in the bar last time you went through town, Or if you steal a horse the original owner may recognize it and call you out when he sees you.
The combat is nothing revolutionary but feels good, gunshots feel like they carry weight. The detail in the animations are incredible as well, everything from loading individual bullets to a close call taking your hat off.
This level detail put into this game changes the way the player interacts in what truly is a living breathing and sets a new bar for open world games. There is no question gamers will be stuck in this world for years to come.
