Despite the extreme cold warning issued by Environment Canada, Londoners still got out and enjoyed some fresh air.
Many people were out in Springbank Park taking some time out of their day to get outside.
“I’m just one of those crazy people that has to be out here in the cold,” said Aaron Russell who is currently training for a marathon.
“One of my biggest cold weather tips that I could probably give anybody I just discovered is some latex or non-latex gloves under your mitts,” said Russell.
“From coming every day… you see the same people. And I’ve made a lot of friends. So it’s kind of a social thing too, you know, not too many people out in weather like this, but it shows you who the diehards are.” said a jogger in the park, who chooses to spend their time outside as a way to exercise.
“I love the cold weather; it feels brisk on the face,” said Don Fuller, who was out strolling in the park.
“I would take this over 40-degree weather,” Fuller said.
“My daughter is just tutoring…I got an hour to kill, so I thought I would come out and get some fresh air,” said A.J., another person enjoying their time outside.
It seems record-cold weather does not stop Londoners from turning out to Springbank Park.
