After a warm autumn and record-hot days, London is finally seeing some snow in the forecast. With the first snow comes a reminder to take extra precautions, like remembering to clear your driveway and sidewalks of snow and ice to prevent accidents. For those travelling, make sure to check road conditions before heading out, as closures or delays are more possible with snow in the mix, and if you haven’t already make sure to switch over to your winter tires.
“I think I kinda just lost sight of the fact that snow would come soon after going nearly all of November with decently warm temperatures.” Shared Lauren Merrell, Fanshawe student.
Because of this period of warmer weather stringing on, some people have forgotten to begin their annual winter preparation.
“We closed our pool a lot later than normal this year and I have not had the chance to get my snow tires on so I am a little stressed.” finished Merrell.
Some Londoners can’t wait for the first frost to arrive.
“I would say I’m pretty prepared. My father actually put my snow tires on at Thanksgiving. I actually expected the snow to come a lot earlier this year and it’s taking a lot longer than I thought, but yes I’m definitely excited. Winter has always been my favourite season.” Shared Alyssa Piotrowski.
While some are excited for the winter season and are looking forward to the snow, other Londoners can’t say the same.
“Well I actually hate snow so I hate the fact that I’m going to have to walk to all my classes in the snow and it’s just going to be really annoying especially digging my car out of the snow cause I don’t have a covered garage.” Shared Fanshawe student Kate Holmes.
The snow is expected to make its first appearance early Thursday morning and continue through the rest of the week.
