Six Members of the London police emergency Response unit Wanted to brighten up kids days at the Children’s Hospital at the London Health and Sciences Center. The Officers dressed up in various costumes, put on ropes and harnesses, and slowly made their way down to the sixth floor to wave at all of the children.
“This was brought to us by our deputy Chief from a similar event in the U.S.”
Paul Devlin is The staff sergeant for the emergency response unit and over saw the event.
“On Thursdays we do special training, so it provides members the opportunity to tie off anchor systems on the roof, and gave some of our operators experience on the ropes while in costume.”
Staff Sargent Devlin Believes that it give his operators valued experience but it is also for a great cause.
“In the spirt of Halloween the operators are in costumes and coming down and they’re stopping on the 6th floor to make sure they see the kids.”
After the Officers were done sliding down the ropes in their costumes, they proceeded to head inside the children’s hospital and do “reverse Trick or Treating,” where the officers walked around and handed candy to the kids.
