The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and the LCBO came to an agreement on July 19.
10 thousand LCBO workers returned to work as of 12:01 a.m. this morning.
“We went on strike to protect good jobs and public revenues, and to win more permanent jobs with benefits and guaranteed hours. Our members stood strong. They held strong lines, they talked to their communities — and they won,” says Bargaining Team Chair, Colleen MacLeod in an OPSEU press release.
The agreement included wage increases and improved mental health benefits as proposed by the union.
“This was the first strike in LCBO’s history. We thank our customers for their understanding and patience as we make the necessary adjustments to return to the service levels expected from us,” says a general statement from LCBO Negotiations.
LCBO retail stores are set to open Tuesday, July 23.
