Fanshawe College is excited to announce the launching of Innovation Village happening Friday January 26th, as students and organizers are thrilled about the launching. Amanda Oppedisano one of the many organizers for the grand opening says “there’s going to be tons of brand new space for students to lounge and hang out in. There is also going to be also going to be some brand new things that have never been tried before at the college. We have our Makerspace, so students can come and tinker in these spaces and try and build something new even if they’ve never built something in like a wood shop type experience or even using the 3D printers in there.”
Students are also thrilled about the launch and are looking forward to all the activities and the new spaces they will be able to explore. Most Fanshawe students said that with all the buildings being connected it makes it faster and more efficient to get around campus. Fanshawe students also mentioned that “I’m interested to see what they do at the stage. I do a lot of performing and I know that there’s performing coming up and so I’m wondering if they’re gonna use that stage, but I think it would just be cool to kind of hype students up with different events here.”
Oppedisano mentions that “there’s gonna be tons of games happening leap junction is holding an entrepreneurial marketplace. There’s going to be entertainment from the radio station playing live music and a live broadcast which are excited about. we’re going to have a huge giveaway that’s been organized by FSU (Fanshawe Student Union) and students can win some pretty killer prizes.”
There will be things going on at Innovation up until 2pm on Friday.
