The London Lightning’s Terry Thomas has been awarded the National Basketball League of Canada’s 6Man of The Year award. The 6Man of The Year award is given to the best player in the league who played the majority of their games off the bench.
The 6’4 East Preston Nova Scotia Native, and Ottawa graduate is in his second stint with the Lightning also playing on the team during the 2019-2020 season.
This season Thomas played in 22 games starting 10 of them. He averaged 17 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Thomas was also a reliable three point shooter supplying a 31.7% average on the season.
Thomas’ value to his team is clearly seen as the Lightning opted to start him for the team’s game 1 playoff win against the Windsor Express. He finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds, in 42 minutes of action.
Fellow Lightning Player Mariek Isom was also a finalist for the award.
This may not be Thomas’ only accolade this year as he is also a finalist for the Canadian Player of The Year award, which is being announced on May 24th.
You can catch Terry Thomas in action tonight as the London Lightning take on the Windsor Express for game 2 of the National Basketball League of Canada’s Playoff Semi-Final, tip-off is at 7p.m.
