London Police are asking for the public’s help with an arson that took place before Christmas.
On December 14th, police responded to a fire at an unoccupied home on Oakridge Drive at approximately 6:30 a.m. The London Fire Department subsequently extinguished the fire. Riverside Drive was closed between Warren and Wonderland roads while emergency crews remained on scene.
The damage is reportedly in the ball park of $1,000,000.
The fire was deemed suspicious and the investigation was assigned to members of the LPS Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the London Fire Department and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
The police have released footage of a suspect, and are asking the public for information.
The surveillance footage shows a suspect wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweater, approach the camera and exit screen. Shortly after, a bright light– presumably from the fire– erupts off screen. The suspect is then seen running from the light.
Anyone with information is asked to contact, anonymous or otherwise, the Police Service or Crime-Stoppers.
