Two people have died and four others have been taken to hospital after a partial building collapsed in London’s Southwest region.
At around 11:40 am, a four-storey building that was under construction collapsed, causing individuals to be stuck inside that were looking at the building. Two people are in fair condition, one is in serious condition, one is in critical condition, and one was named deceased.
The individual who was trapped as a result of the collapse has also been named deceased.
The partial collapse was at 555 Teeple Ter., the site of Nest on Wonderland, which is currently under construction. On the Nest website, it describes the building as “brand new apartments”, that was set to open by Summer 2021.
The Heavy Urban Search and Rescue team from Toronto and the Ontario fire marshal are both on the scene to assist if needed.
“This continues to be an active site, with the potential for additional impacts as emergency responders remain on scene,” the city said in a press release.

London Mayor Ed Holder found out about the news and twitted “My heart breaks for the families of those involved in today’s tragedy on Teeple Terrace. Please know that so many in our community are thinking of you, and your loved ones. You are not alone.”
The cause is still unknown at this time. Residents are still being asked to avoid the area.
