The London Police Service is asking for the public’s help in identifying the mother of a newborn baby found abandoned outside a home just north of the downtown core. Around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a call from a concerned citizen who had discovered the baby on the porch of a residence near Sterling Street and Oxford Street East.
Emergency services responded swiftly, and the infant was transported to hospital by paramedics. Authorities report the baby is in good condition and receiving appropriate care. Investigators with the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section are now working to locate the baby’s mother, expressing concern for her health and well-being.
