A packed crowd showed up to support NDP leader Jagmeet Singh in a campaign event that occurred in London Wednesday night. Singh focused on reminding voters what the NDP stands for and talked about strategies to deal with Unites States president Donald Trump’s tariff threats. The event started at 7:00 p.m. and it saw many other NDP members attend.
I would say go and connect with the people and go talk to the people that are actually being affected and tell them what he what it is he’s planning on fighting for and how he’s going to do.

In attendance was Shinade Allder who is the federal candidate for the NDP London West in this election and she is also the president for Unifor Local 6005 in London. Allder spoke about how the NDP must keep doing what it’s doing to bounce back in the election.
“The NDP party is not irrelevant. Like I say, look at what the NDP has done over the last nine years. We’re the ones that brought in the Pharmacare, the dental care, the medication prescription. We’re the ones that brought it in, so we’re not irrelevant,” said Allder.
“If it wasn’t for the NDP fighting for the Liberals to put that in, we wouldn’t have it, so we are not irrelevant. We’re the only ones that’s fighting for workers rights and we’re going to continue to fight for workers and the people of Canada,” added Allder.

The event saw a good amount of security for the NDP leader. Also in attendance was another Unifor Local president. This time for Unifor Local 1859 in Tillsonburg. Dave McDowell spoke about what the NDP party could do to improve its chances in the election.
“I would say maybe just try to connect with the people, like go to some of the workplaces and especially like automotive is a big which is there’s so much uncertainty there right now. Like I said in my plant, we don’t know what’s going to be tariffed and it might cross the border like our parts across the border come back to us, so we don’t know it’s going to be hit on both sides,” says McDowell.
Liberal party leader Mark Carney was also in London on Wednesday March 26. He was touring a facility in the city that day.
