London’s Grand Theatre has unveiled its six new productions for the 2025/26 season.
“I think that this year in particular, the theme of our season is ‘You Are Here.’ We’re really focusing on the fact that our shows are built and produced right here in London,” said Grand Theatre Director Rachel Peake.
The cast is composed of a diverse range of people from all over Ontario. Many of the people who build the shows are artisans, such as those in the costume and prop departments, who live in London and are part of the community.
“I really think about shows that I hope will speak to the London community in a myriad of ways,” Peake said when discussing how she develops the season’s programming.
Many of the productions offers an opportunity to bond over familiar classics, such as Frozen. “Whether it’s a grandparent who has heard ‘Let It Go’ sung many times by their young grandchild, this is their opportunity to bring them to the theatre and expose them to what it’s like to see Elsa and Anna live on stage,” Peake said.
No matter the age, Peake shares that the productions offer “a real taste of everything” and that there’s “something for everyone.”
“When you come, you are going to be immersed in an experience that transports you, that takes you on an emotional journey, but also lets you be in community with the people around you,” said Peake.
Productions will take the stage from September 2025 to May 20
26, and include titles such as, The Play That Goes Wrong, Disney’s Frozen, Primary Trust, Piaf/Dietrich, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Come From Away.
Peake adds, “Whether you come with a friend, a date, or the people who sit around you, you’ll laugh together, you’ll cry together, and you’ll have a moment of suspended silence while something major is revealed. And that experience of witnessing this extremely high level of art is really an amazing experience, one that I wish for everyone.”
