The CPKC Holiday Train is a beloved annual tradition organized by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). The train travels through Canada and the United States during the holiday season.
The train is brightly decorated with thousands of LED lights and holiday-themed designs, creating a stunning moving display. Its colorful design makes it an iconic sight as it travels through snowy landscapes and urban centers.
The primary goal of the Holiday Train is to raise awareness and funds for food insecurity. Attendees at each stop are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make monetary donations to local food banks.
“We’ve been running it for the last 15-plus years. CPKC brings in live performers, they decorate their train covered in lights, and we end up putting on a little concert here in downtown London.”
Josh Miller from Tepperman’s Furniture was at the event, helping out with donations to London’s Food Bank and gathering support for the London Food Bank.
“All we ask in return is that people show up with a food donation for the London Food Bank, food or cash. And we collect all of that stuff here. We bring it to the food bank tonight.”
Miller says last year they Collected a little over 3000 pounds of food for the Local food bank,
