A London man is facing charges after an underage girl was sexually assaulted, according to police.
Just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, October 17th, police say a teenage girl met a man near Clarke Road and Wavell Street. The two struck up a conversation and walked over to a nearby school on Clarke Road.
At around 6 a.m. the next morning, police say the teenage girl was sexually assaulted by the man. The girl entered the school and reported the incident. Police were contacted and began an investigation, and with the help of witness descriptions and video surveillance they were able to identify the suspect.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 36-year-old man on Saturday, October 19th.
Christopher David Jose has been charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 and sexual interference with a person under 16.
The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in London court on October 21st in relation to the charges.
