The name of the historic London landmark Bud Gardens has recently changed to Canada Life Place after the most recent London City Council meeting voted unanimously in favour of the change.
The director of marketing for Oak View Group Danielle Phillips told us that it has been undergoing a two-phase renovation plan since May of this year and that they will continue even with the change of hands. The changes span from upgrading their luxury suites to expanding their back-of-house.
Here is a full list of the changes that come to the venue in the two-phase plan:
Phase 1
- New state-of-the-art scoreboard
- Upgrades to the luxury suites
- Digital signage
Phase 2
- Expansion to back-of-house facilities
- Enhancement to overall efficiency
- Seamless experience or artists and crew
The community’s reaction has been evenly mixed based on the opinions of the people interviewed by our reporters outside of the former Budweiser Gardens.
“We did like the old name..” says one community member who is against the change. “Budweiser is a beer name… there are so many kids’ activities” says a mother happy with the change. “I didn’t know about the change” or “It doesn’t bother me” was a majority of the responses from those interviewed about the change.
