“The first car was on fire and the other car was completely crushed,” says Misha, a worker at a local burger restaurant Banana Burger, and a witness to the aftermath of a car accident that happened early Thursday morning. “We heard the crash of the cars and then the electricity went out…we ran outside and there were two cars and a broken….hydro pole,” he said when asked about what he had seen. The 2-car collision happened at 2 am right outside of Western off Richmond and Epworth Ave, leaving a pedestrian remaining in life threatening condition.
“People in this area have been saying for a long time that traffic is very dangerous and there is a lot of speeding,” says councillor Sam Trosow, when asked about the accident. Trosow is the councillor for ward 6, where the accident took place and feels a change needs to be made. “The police need to take this more seriously…residents of this community have long felt that the city needs to do a serious traffic study for the entire area of Richmond,”
