First responders in London, Ontario are searching the Thames River after reports that a young girl went missing in the river yesterday afternoon.
The London Fire Department and London Police were called to the area of Kipps Lane and Adelaide Street North around 3 p.m. yesterday.
Swimmers and boats were searching the water all day yesterday, and are continuing their search this morning.
London Police are asking the public to avoid the area and remind everyone that the river is high and moving quickly and to allow emergency personnel with the appropriate safety gear to conduct the search.
Several emergency response teams including the London Police, London Fire Department, Middlesex London Paramedics, Ontario Provincial Police, Waterloo Police, and London Search & Rescue teams have been called in to help with the search.
London Police are also using a drone to help search the area.
