London Hydro has officially brought on its newest CEO.
St. Thomas native, Ysni Semsedini, is set to become the company’s latest Chief Executive Officer, effective August 6 later this year.
Chair of London Hydro Inc., Connie Graham, made the announcement on behalf of the company’s board.
“The Board is extremely pleased with Mr. Semsedini’s appointment and looks forward to continued success through his proven visionary leadership and development of strategic solutions for multi disciplined organization,” says Graham.
This comes following current CEO, Vinay Sharma, announcing his retirement back in March after working with the company for 26 years, 15 of which as CEO.
Ysni Semsedini brings over 20 years of experience of electricity distribution, telecom, manufacturing, and healthcare to London Hydro, having previously held the position of CEO at NT Power and Festival Hydro.
“Ysni Semsedini is originally from St.Thomas, Ontario and is people focused and a results-oriented community builder,” says Graham.
He also serves on various boards currently in the electricity sector including as a Past Chair of the Electricity Distribution Association as well as the Director for The Mearie Group, PC&G Chairs Electricity Safety Authority (ESA), and RFA Chair Ontario One Call.
Sharma is set to continue as acting CEO until the transition is made to Semsedini in August.
