Victoria Day is right around the corner.
This long weekend comes at a great time, with London weather forecasted as sunny with a high of 25 C on Saturday, 26 C on Sunday, and 27 C on Monday, according to Environment Canada.
With this statutory holiday, there will also be closures.
Closed:
City Hall, Citi Plaza, all Ontario Works offices, the Provincial Offences Administrative Office, Service Ontario, banks, mail delivery, malls, libraries, the LCBO, and most grocery/retail stores.
Open:
Some drugstores and cannabis shops will be open during regular or holiday hours and No Frills will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fireworks:
As of right now, there are no scheduled fireworks to happen in London. Residents are allowed to use fireworks solely on May 20th between sundown and 11 p.m.
“Let’s ensure our festivities are safe and respectful,” says Mayor, Josh Morgan.
There will be a lot to do in London including events at Storybook Gardens and the Fanshawe Pioneer Village.
Many Londoners will be staying close to home this long weekend.
“We are going to go party cruising down to Grand Bend, checking out some more cars and probably working on my car,” says Rambo Gill.
Others will be using this long weekend to travel.
“We’ll be going to Ottawa, there’s an ongoing tulip festival over there and so we plan to go,” says Remy Jade Manzon Alvarez
“I will go to Niagara with my family to eat with some friends,” says Paula Rincon.
