Two of the most popular chip brands that Frito Lay Canada produces are being recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.
All sizes of Harvest Cheddar Sunchips and Munchies Original Snack Mix are affected by the recall.
Frito Lay Canada says in a statement that they were notified by their seasoning supplier that an ingredient supplied by a third party was potentially contaminated. Frito Lay is working closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to ensure the recalled products are removed from the marketplace.
They say that Harvest Cheddar Sunchips and Munchies Original Snack Mix with best before dates between July 16th and August 13th, 2024, are impacted.
Salmonella is a bacterium that can possibly cause diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps.
Frito Lay is encouraging everyone to check their cupboards for these products and dispose of them.
