Protesters have gathered outside city hall prior to the public participation meeting held last night.
Many members of the protest participated in the meeting, voicing their concern over the proposed $639-million budget increase to the London Police.
Most of the concern has been directed towards the light armored vehicle that is included in the proposal that will cost $492-thousand.
“These are not necessities, they are “niceties,”‘ says David Pasquino who is an accountant in London.
Others stated that the budget should be allocated to other areas of the community.
“How about we house the homeless instead of funding cops,” says Strgazer Giordano.
The budget is set to be finalized on Thursday where Councilor Anna Hopkins is expected to put forth a motion to reduce the budget.
