If you have ever been to the Dollarama next to Masonville Mall, you might have heard a man singing with the company of his two German Shepherds. 40-year-old Jeb Patterson is a local country artist who’s chosen to do music for his living. Besides singing for folks, he is enjoying the opportunity to gather some clothes for charity.
‘’I always bask in front of the Masonville LCBO with my two German Shepherds. I will leave them home if it’s too hot or too cold, but right now we’re in a period where there’s a great temperature for them.’’
He says the donations have been decreasing in the past few years, with people abandoning the use of cash.
‘’I’ve had my Gmail out there for e-transfers. I haven’t made much doing that. I imagine someday I will have to get an app, where people tap or something like that.’’
‘’I imagine I will have to get more legit gigs in bars. London so far hasn’t been so friendly to me as far as gigs and establishments.’’
‘’Music has been the most important thing in my life. I’ve tried a lot of different things and differ a little bit from music here and there, but it always brings me back. It sustains me and my dogs, and also helps raising awareness. I’ve put on a couple of charity shows that helps me help others.’’
He calls out on people for any excess of clothing they might have, with the Spirit of Life Church also receiving donations at their location, next to Riverside Park.
‘’There’s a Dollarama really close by, so if you can and want to contribute with the cause, there’s always some deals going on there and also Giant Tiger.’’
