Today is St. Patrick’s Day, which means that London is about to be very lively. Irish pubs all over London are about to experience one of their busiest days of the year. Kaitlin Kilmartin is a Manager at one of the Irish pubs in downtown London. Last year was the first year they were open since the pandemic. Kilmartin claims they were very busy, but it was great to have everything back to normal. She has her staff ready for another big turnout this year.
“To the best of our ability, we make sure that we are properly staffed, we have bottles of water, and just make sure everyone’s prepared to be responsible for the guests that come in house, and we’re smart about over service and everything.”
Kilmartin also told us what a day like St. Patrick’s Day means for their business.
“It means a lot to us. Not only are we an Irish pub, but we just love the London locals and we want everyone to come out and have a good time and show London that we’re still an Irish pub at the end of the day and we’re just really looking forward to it.”
Although it’s important for everyone to have fun, London Police has tweeted that there will be an increased police presence in downtown London.
Ready to shamrock and roll this St. Patrick’s’ Day?🍀 The LPS is reminding all celebrating to have fun without putting yourself or others at risk.

They said their approach will be strict, but fair. They are there to make sure you are safe and responsible today.
