Four weeks ago, several electric vehicle (EV) charging stations were added on the parking lot at the Fanshawe London Campus. Although the charging stations have been here for a couple of weeks, students and staff are not able to use them. The reason: they aren’t plugged in yet.
The physical units are here, but we are just waiting to hook them up into the powersuply.
Ivan Walker, Senior Manager of Facilities Operations and Sustainability
When will they be available?
According to Ivan Walker, Senior Manager of Facilities Operations and Sustainability, it can take up to three weeks before the new EV charging stations are ready for use. Until then all students and staff can use the charging station at the C-building, because that one is still operational and is accessible 24/7.
Will they add more charging stations in the future?
“Based on the demand, I think we are ahead on the curve at Fanshawe College,” Walker sais. “There has not been a huge demand for them on campus, but if we see a big amount of usage in the next period of time, then we will start putting in some more.”
As soon as all charging stations are operational, there will be a total of 13 parking spaces that can be found all around the Fanshawe London campus. Want to know where you will be able to charge your car? You can find the locations on the map below.
