In her first tour back since the pandemic, Poppy has brought her opening act Mz Neon to Canada.
The charm Mz Neon brought to the stage was met with great love from the crowd with her hyperpop meets rapper perfomances. With a taste of her songs performed, Mz Neon holds a focus during her performance that reflects her sexuality as a trans woman and defying gender ideology.
As Mz Neon flawlessly claims the stage, she reflects on the energy of the crowd while on tour “It’s been amazing, I mean the reception has been outstanding,”.
“It’s been such a great opportunity to co-create, and also connect with young fans that are queer and trans.” shares Mz Neon, and adds the importance of seeing representation of the crowd to stage. “Especially I am so touched by the reception, I didn’t have that when I was younger. I feel really humbled and holnoured to be a part of this.”
When asked about the excitment of future plans in store, Mz Neon responded simply with “The locus raining down from heaven and the fall of civilization and the rise of our true purposes here on Earth.” Off the stage, the talent of Mz Neon can be found on Spotify and Bandcamp for her hit songs such as So Wrong So Right and Real Hardcore.
Poppy launched her performance with Lessen The Damage from her latest album Flux while also performing from her Am I A Girl and I Disagree albums.
As Poppy marches, jumps, and twirls all over the stage, many fans became emotional in rekindling a moment together since the pandemic.
While wrapping up the show, Poppy took a moment to share with the crowd that although it was a long battle to cross the boarder, it was worth it. Poppy was also excited to share she was able to attend a hockey game in town the night before the show, and jokes she’ll now be a hockey fan.
Poppy’s 2020 I Disagree European tour was canclled due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down live engagements. Essentially, just a few weeks after performing in Canada as part of her North American tour. Additionally, the Never Find My Place tour was originally set to play in Canada in October as part of the Flux tour, but was also canclled due to logistics with the pandemic.
The Never Find My Place tour is set to continue until the end of October in Las Vegas, Nevada.
