Today I’m going to be talking to you about your physical health, and why we should really be paying more attention to it.
As I’m sure any college student would tell you there’s a lot of work in college whether that’s projects or even exams.
With all this to keep in our minds, sometimes college students forget the most basic things like eating, sleeping or even drinking.
I spoke to 3 college students this week to find out how they are taking care of their physical health.
There are 3 basic questions that I asked.
The first one was whether they believe personally that they are in physical shape? If they say yes they gave me some strategies that they use to stay in physical shape and if they said no they would have to give me some excuses they use on themselves.
The second question I asked them was.
How many meals do they eat on average a-day and out of those meals how many of them are quick meals like they just pop a piece of bread in the toaster and eat it and that’s considered a meal or do they make full course meals from themselves.
My third and final question for them was.
In their personal opinion do they think that sleep is really important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and they had to give reasons on why or why not.
The first student I asked these questions too was named Alexander Mendez.
He is a computer science student in his third year and here were his answers.

Next, I asked a student named Carly Ball.
She is in the 911 dispatcher batcher communications course and she is in her 1st year. Here’s how she responded to my questions.

After I spoke to Carly, I spoke to a first year student in the Video game design program his name is Alex Pearson.

After I finish getting student perspectives.
I wanted to see if I could get an expert at the college to explain some healthy eating strategies and give tips to college students who want to improve their physical health.
I decided that I would contact a professor named Kamal Al-Rafea.
Kamal teaches food preparation in the Hospitality course here at Fanshawe.
For Kamal’s questions since he works in the hospitality course, I wanted his questions to be more geared towards dieting and cooking.
With that in mind my first question to Kamal was.
Do you have any tips and strategies for college students on how to eat healthier and eating more consistently?
My second question was geared towards the type of foods college students should be eating more of and what kind of foods we should be eating in moderation.
My final question was all about cooking and why cooking is an important skill and why students benefit from learning how to cook.
