The London Knights, unfortunately, suffered their 14th loss of the season. The loss came to the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday. The Knights lost that game 6-4 in a poor defensive showing that resulted in the team trying to play catch-up. That is no way to win hockey games. The Knights will have to be rebound from this slump, but the task will be much harder than expected.

Their next game is against their division rivals, the Kitchener Rangers. The Rangers always play the Knights tough and have proven to be a challenge no matter the situation. With the Knights desperate to get back to their winning ways, this could result in a massive win or a tragic loss. The upcoming games after this divisional matchup won’t be easy either, as the Knights will play three straight games against teams with 40 or more points in the standings.

The defensive issues that resulted in the Knights loss to Windsor will need to be patched up for the team to rebound. The main problem starts in the net. Brett Brochu, who is usually terrific in the net, let in 5 goals on 29 shots. This was one of his worst showings of the year, and he will surely want to rebound and get momentum back in his favor. To do that, the defensive performances of his defenseman will need to be top-notch. Two of the six Knights defensive players did not have a negative plus-minus in the Windsor game. Tightening up the play and focusing on shutting down Kitchener should result in a win and a return to normal for the Knights.
If the Knights are not able to rebound against this could spiral into a losing streak that no one wants to see happen. The game gets started tonight in Kitchener at The Aud at 7:00 pm.
