Following an executed search warrant on Thursday, over $150,000 in drugs and money were seized from three London homes.
Members of the London Police Service Guns and Gangs section, along with members of the Emergency Response Unit, searched three addresses on King Street, Belmont Drive, and Commissioners Road West.
The following items were seized after the search:
- 743 grams of fentanyl, value $148,600;
- 26.5 grams of crack cocaine, value $2650; and
- $8000 in cash.
Following the investigation, 5 people were charged. Nicholas Donofrio, 29, Jason Donofrio, 36, Emma Alijaj, 39, and Malik Edwards, 18, are all charged with one count of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
Additionally, Nicholas Donofrio, Emma Alijaj, and Naime Alijaj, 60, are also all charged with one count of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
Nicholas Donofrio is also charged with one count of failure to comply with a release order and Naime Alijaj is charged with one count of possession of a schedule I substance.
Naime Alijaj and Malik Edwards are scheduled to appear in London court on Apr. 22 in relation to the charges, while Jason Donofrio is scheduled to appear in London court on Feb. 25.
Nicholas Donofrio and Emma Alijaj, meanwhile, were placed back into custody.
