COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns have made fun outdoor winter activities the best options.
Winter can be just as enjoyable as summer, and that is due to the plenty of fun outdoor things that can be done during winter such as Hiking, Ice-skating, and Skiing.
Those activities have so many benefits for the body as well as mental health. For example: joint flexibility, building up leg and arm muscles, reducing the risk of high blood pressure, heart diseases, and stroke.
According to Statistic Canada, 7 out of 10 Canadians have participated in outdoor activities such as hiking and have enjoyed it. Moe Ali is a 34 year old hiker and he explains why he enjoys the activity. ” I have been hiking since I was 11 and has helped me stay in shape. Honestly, hiking helps me with my anxiety and it reduces the levels of my stress all the time. I enjoy hiking during winter sunny days because the view is always beautiful. You can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset having amazing walks with your friends or family.” Moe Ali said.
Four of Five Canadians know how to skate and 92% of them think that skating is a basic skill that everybody should have.
Allawi Baaqil is a 21 year old who enjoys skiing and he explains why skiing is such a fun and a healthy activity. “I think if you come prepared and well dressed for it, and if you practice enough, you will have the most fun time of your life.” Allawi Ba-aqail.
Karisa is a 23 year old ice skater and she says she enjoys her time with friends and family doing this activity. “My friends and I love coming here to skate, it is just so much fun and helps with my anxiety.” Karisa said.
