Fanshawe College has opened its brand new, state-of-the-art, Oral Health Care Clinic. Located at Fanshawe’s A building, you can book an appointment now.
With 16 operatories, a radiography clinic, and a simulation clinic, Fanshawe will now offer:
- Complete examinations
- Full mouth cleanings
- Home care instructions
- Individualized care
The clinic is meant to provide students with an in depth education and hands-on experience. It’s also meant to give the community a place that provides affordable care.
“This is a great day for Fanshawe and a great day for our community,” says Dr. Ken Wright.
Dr. Wright is the owner of the Wright Clinic. The Wright Clinic is the first non-for-profit, community-based clinic in London. It was started with the understanding that everyone deserves “optimal oral health and well-being.” Dr. Wright also started the Dental Outreach Community Service (DOCS) program at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, with the same focus as his clinic.
Dr. Wright attended the opening of Fanshawe’s new clinic and had this to say:
“DOCS is what this is really all about today. The DOCS program is a wonderful example of bringing together two institutions: Fanshawe’s Oral Health Department and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. It enables the school to have students, along with professional staff, treat patients who have difficulty finding affordable dentistry.”
A check-up and cleaning costs $40, while a children’s appointment is only $20. You can book an appointment here.
