Starting today OSAP applications for the 2020-2021 school year are being accepted. This year however applicants will have to complete a course that is designed to educate on the student assistance program as well as financial literacy.
Ross Romano the Minister of Colleges and Universities says “Investing in higher education is one of the most important investments a person can make in their future,”
For most students, OSAP loans are the first ones they will take on. The ministry says that the course has been put in place in order to help applicants understand there responsibilities as an OSAP recipient.
For those who currently have OSAP loans and are in good standing, the government is providing a temporary deferral on loan payments and interest accrual. This is in effect between March 30th and September 30th.
