The first confirmed case of the Coronavirus has been found in London. A female Western student in her 20s admitted herself to hospital after noticing symptoms.
Dr Michael Payne, the medical director of infection prevention and control shared that the patient “had a travel history to Wuhan, China.”
She was then assessed, treated and released after a follow up with the Middlesex-London health unit. She is back home and recovering in isolation.
“Here at LHSC we want to reassure the public that our pro cautions practises and protocols to address any global emerging disease across all points of entry are effective and were followed carefully London Health science centre is safe for patients and visitors and is operating as normal,” Payne explained.
This is the third case in Ontario and the fourth in Canada.
