Most people have a pet and a lot of times the pet provides comfort for their owner. But why would someone turn to an exotic animal for a pet as opposed to a traditional Dog or Cat. Dean Masse the manager of Southwest Pet in London explains one reason that people sometimes turn to birds or snakes for pets
Although some people may be more inclined to these types of animals there are laws that prevent people from owning too many snakes for example.
Masse is one of many people who wants to see the bylaw changed or eliminated to allow people to own as many snakes and as big a snake as they want.
Masse isn’t the only one in London who has experience dealing with snakes, Jonathan Reed the bird and reptile department manager at Pet Paradise explains what makes these animals different to care for. “I think the biggest thing that people need to realize about these types of animals is that all types of reptiles are different and some aren’t as affectionate as others.” said Reed “Another one of the biggest things about reptiles is that most of them need different housing than most animals and people need to do their research before they buy a reptile or consider a reptile as a pet.
