Fanshawe College has many different events and activities for students to do throughout the school year to get the most out of there experience while being in school. There are events going on weekly at the school for students to go and enjoy. These can be good for students as it can help them unwind and get away from the stresses of school and have some fun doing something, they are interested in. If students are trying to stay active, they have options for that to as there are 2 gyms students can use plus squash, table tennis, and a new golf simulator.
When talking with Kevin Masterson the events and activities manager at Fanshawe College he said “All students are a member of the wellness centre, so they can go work out there all the time as its part of there tuition so they just need to swipe their student card and go in and can work out.”
Fanshawe is doing their best to keep their students active and out doing things by holding multiple events to attend to and having activities. When being a student though you will have deadlines to reach which may cause you to not be able to make each event that you’d like to.
Kevin also said, “The attendance at the events this year has been amazing, and the support from the students has been tremendous.”
One new activity for students to do this year is using a golf simulator that has been put in the school. It’s a great way for you and some friends to go and practice your golf game or even play a round of golf as you can play up to 50 different courses on it. It’s free for students to use all you need to do is take a 30-minute class on Wednesdays between 10:00am-3:00pm to learn how to use it and the rules around it. If you are a golfer, then during the winter months this would be a good way to keep up with your golf game and continue to get better when the weather isn’t good enough to play.
Between the activities and events, they offer for students Fanshawe does an amazing job with trying their best to give their students a great college experience. They can only do what they are doing and it’s up to you to make use of what they offer, Fanshawe is said to offer more for their students to do then many other colleges and it shows when events are being filled and the facilities to stay active are used a lot as well.
