Following their win in the OCAA title game, the Fanshawe women’s basketball team are back in London to prepare for part two of their playoff run.
The CCAA tournament features a number of top ranked teams from across the country. Despite the Falcons being ranked number one in the nation, head coach Bill Carriere says they will still have lots of adversities to face,

“There’s going to be some hurdles and challenges that they have to overcome. There’s going to be stretches where we play some really hard teams and how we handle it is going to be the deciding factor.”
A big part of their success can be credited to star Chuot Angou. She’s been playing fantastically for the Falcons, averaging 16 points per game and shooting 37.1% for three. Carriere says shes crucial to how they play the game,
“When we run the offense she always touches the ball, and if we run it properly she’ll find easy shots where she can get to the rim or take the open shot.”
Carriere adds that when it comes to play making, they aren’t changing the way they run the offense or defense. He says that by staying un-predictable and running a flexible playbook they can adapt to multiple situations.
The CCAA tournament kicks off next week in Quebec.
