London’s Rocky’s Harley Davidson has been chosen as one of the first stores to sell the all new electric motorcycle. The LiveWire bike will be featured at the London location in August. General Manager of Rocky’s Harley Davidson, Jeff Duncan, is excited about the buzz the bike is getting “We are very excited to see how this is going to do on the market, there seems to be interest as we have seen some pre sales.”
The motorcycle is not a typical Harley. This electric version has a high voltage battery and permanent magnet electric motor that can produce power instantly. Jeff Duncan expects more than the avid rider to purchase the bike “This is not for your average Harley rider, it is very easy rider. There is no clutch or gears its just turn the key and you are off”. Charging the bike is as easy as the owner plugging it into a household outlet in the garage at home overnight, or it can accommodate a fast charge, available at many charging stations.
The bike is a higher standard of motorcycle starting at $37,000. This bike will be the fastest of the Harley family. Riders will be able to go 0 – 100 in less than 3.5 seconds.
