Museum London’s latest student exhibition showcases the love of music. It’s called Art of Music: Student Exhibition.
The art of students from Kindergarten, all the way to grade 12 make up the near 100 pieces of art on display. Through various mediums, each artwork shares what music means to the youth of London.
“The theme was music connected with visual arts because of the JUNOs coming to London. We really wanted to link into music, and we thought that would be a popular theme with students,” says Steve Mavers, Curator of Education at Museum London.
Much of the artwork shows the diversity and timelessness of music.
“We have works that represent contemporary artists, but also musicians from the past. I was surprised to see some of that. Going back to the 50’s and 60’s. So I think it adds to the experience,” says Mavers.
The creativity shines through the students’ artwork. You can almost hear the music coming out of each piece.
“It’s always great to see our young people in our community show their talent. And the works are in a variety of different mediums, so I think it’s really a diverse showing. It says a lot about London and our love for music here,” says Mavers.
