NFL a season to remember already?
The N.F.L has been very eventful to say the least. With drew Brees becoming the league’s all time passing leader in week 5 against washington. We also seen Cam Newton break the record for most games with a rushing td and a passing td as he passed Steve Young who had 31. We have a rookie quarterback in patrick Mahommes who has entered the league not missing a step. The young rookie Quarterback has ripped off 7 consecutive games of 300 plus pass yards. While holding a record of 7-1.
We have a Los Angeles rams team with a 4th year running back a third year quarterback and a very new coach with an undefeated record of 8-0. Kicker Adam Vinatieri has broken Morten Andersen’s NFL record of 2,544 career points. Vinatieri went on to say in an interview with Colts.com That “A dozen years ago I thought nobody’s ever coming close to that [record],” this is a record we will now not seen broken for plenty of years to come. Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown already has the longest streak in NFL history with five straight seasons of at least 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards, which he’ll look to extend.
All Adrian Peterson needs is 1 more rush of 50 plus yards to pass Barrie Sanders for most in league history. When asked about it post game Peterson stated “We feel good but we won’t get to excited about things” via redskins.com. It isn’t just the records this season that have surprised fans. Fans should be intrigued by the emergence of teams who were not to good in prior seasons like the Rams,Saints and Chiefs. Young quarterback patrick Mahommes said sunday after the chiefs win to the broncos that this is the best team he has been on stating “I love the heart in this team….this game showed us we can step up in all aspects of the game and on both sides of the ball”. That is a lot coming from a young quarterback playing his first full season.
The N.F.L Has been so much more entertaining this season and should continue to stay that way with all divisions being right there for the taking and open to almost any team. A division doing a notable amount of damage this season is the NFC South. The south is home to the quarterback with the most passing yards in the N.F.L . Matt Ryan is continuing his rapid pace from his M.V.P season leading the league in yards again. Cam newton is leading his panthers too a 5-2 record. And the new Orleans saints have played unbelievable posting a 6-1 Record.
This season has already produced some of the best games to date and we hope it continues to not disappoint.
