It is midterm season and Fanshawe College staff knows that students are feeling stressed, and anxious as they study to achieve the marks they want.
With the health and well being of students being a priority to Fanshawe, they put on many events that are at the students access.
This past week there was plenty of “Wellness Day” events throughout the college. Fraser Brown (campus events staff) says that this week was for Fanshawe students to speak up about how they are feeling during midterm season, and showing them that there is always a helping hand available.
Brown adds that students should take advantage of the support system the college has, in order to make sure that their mental health is taken care of.
Many students did take advantage of the events that took place in Forewell Hall at the college. Ashley Brown, a third year nursing student says that the events at Wellness Week really helped her how many resources are at her access at the college. “There are really so many places to go when you are feeling stressed about exams and everything going on”.
As the school year continues on, and the exams don’t stop, Fanshawe will continue to have events, and sessions for the students who want and need to talk to someone.
If you or someone you know if struggling with speaking up, be sure to reach out and get the help needed. Outside of the classroom, Fanshawe offers plenty of opportunities for students to get involved in things that give your mind a break.
