The american league championship series between the Boston Red Sox And Houston Astros is set up to be one for the ages. Houston manager AJ Hinch had this to say prior to Saturday nights game “these are enormous names in our game.”
Game 1 happened yesterday and Houston took series control early. They won 7-2 off the bat of Yuli Gurriel who drove in 3 runs along with a late 9th inning homer from Josh Reddick. This series will Feature previous A.L Mvps in Jose Altuve and Justin Verlander. It will also Feature 4 former A.L Cy Young award winners in David Price, Rick Porcello, Justin Verlander and Dallas Keuchel. The Boston Red Sox who finishes 108-54 this season placed 61 games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles who were last in the division. Houston was not far behind posting a 103-59 record finishing 36 games ahead of Texas. A big Factor in this series is centerfielder Mookie Betts. Mookie is a 5 tool player that can beat you with his legs his bat or his glove. He’s likely to win his third gold glove this season. And despite the slow start he’s been having to the postseason he and martinez will be the hitters feared most by the Astros.
this series is definitely shaping up to be a classic. game 3 can be seen at 5:09 pm on Tuesday and game 4 is set for a 8:39 first pitch on Wednesday Night
