In the 4th and final round robin game, Fanshawe would allow the first strike against the Sheridan Bruins. Uyl would come to the rescue and tie up the match at 1 with her 3rd goal of the tournament. The score would remain 1-1 and see the match end up resulting in a draw.
A 3-0-1 record was enough to give the Falcons top seed in their group.
Medal Round
The Seneca Sting would be the 1st team to defeat Fanshawe at the OCAA finals. The Sting and Falcons battled scoreless, all the way into overtime. Seneca took advantage of a scoring opportunity during the extra soccer. They handed Fanshawe a 1-0 loss and a trip to the bronze medal game. The shot at gold was over for the Falcons despite controlling a majority of the game.
The fight for 3rd place would pit Fanshawe against Sheridan in a rematch of the round robin game. This time the Falcons would score 1st due to a Sheridan penalty in the game’s opening minute. Alex Clements would take the initial shot which created a rebound that Uyl made no mistake on.
Clements would get her chance to play the hero however.
With the game tied at 1 late in the 2nd half, the London native scored the bronze medal winning goal. Fanshawe would take the win 2-1 and 3rd place in Ontario along with it.
Clements was named to the tournament All-Star team.
