It all happened in the blink of an eye.
A 40-year old London man has been arrested and charged with assault of a peace officer.
An Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Enforcement Officer was arranging traffic stops on Hamilton road near Putnam Road just before 10 p.m. on February 5th.
The man in the vehicle was asked to provide papers and the accused hit the officer in the chest and police were later called. The law enforcement officer did not need to go to the hospital.
The accused was released by police by way of a Promise to Appear and has his first court date on March 3rd.
