Today marks the grand opening of St. Joseph’s Mental Health Care Building called Parkwood Institute. The facility replaces the Regional Mental Health Care London centre located on Highbury Avenue, which will soon be closing.
Services provided will include treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation of individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. Through intensive work with St. Joseph care teams, patients are able to develop new skills needed to successfully reintegrate back into the community.
Patients and staff will transfer to the new facility at 550 Wellington Road starting Sunday November 16th.
Those attending the grand opening were welcome to place their thumbprint as a leaf on the blossoming tree. The artwork will be hung in the facility when patients transfer on November 16th.
