The Fanshawe Falcons Women’s Basketball team won 69-25 over the Sheridan Bruins, giving them a fifth straight win.
“We thought the girls played very well on the first half,” said assistant coach Theresa Carriere, “Fell a little short in the second half, but at the end of the game it was nice to see a W on the board.”
She said the team has many all-stars, but felt gaurd Kaleigh Morris “played extremely well” during the game.
However, the Mens Basketball team had different results. Despite a 64-62 lead in the third quarter, they fell 91-78 to the Sheridan Bruins.
Both Fanshawe basketball teams head over to Hamilton on Tuesday for a match against Mohawk College. Carriere acknowledged it would be a tough match, but said they plan to win with their usual strategy.
“That’s just outwork our opponents, and hopefully we can execute the offense well,” she said.
The Women’s team stands in third place in the OCAA West Division, and the men are in 10th.
